You give it an objective and it decomposes the work itself — planning the steps, browsing the live web, writing and executing code, analysing what it finds, and returning a finished artefact rather than a conversation. The 1.6 model family added a full Web App Builder, Scheduled Tasks 2.0 for recurring work, and integrations with Slack, WhatsApp and Telegram, which is what moved it from demo to something you can put on a rota. Budgeting is the thing to understand before you commit. Manus is a subscription plus a credit pool, and credits are consumed per task rather than per message: a quick lookup runs 10 to 20 credits, while a multi-step research job with browser navigation, data extraction and a formatted report lands closer to 200 to 500. Monthly credits do not roll over, though add-on credits you buy stay valid as long as the subscription does. That structure rewards a small number of substantial tasks and punishes idle experimentation.
