SpaceX's S-1 SEC filing revealed a deal renting 300 megawatts of compute capacity to Anthropic for $1.25 billion per month through May 2029. That's roughly $15B per year for a single customer, and it represents one of the largest infrastructure commitments in AI history.
The filing also confirmed SpaceX's plans for AI compute satellites by 2028 — orbital data centers powered by solar and cooled by radiating heat into space.
For Anthropic, the deal secures enough compute to train frontier models for the next three years without competing against Meta, OpenAI, or Microsoft for terrestrial GPU capacity. For SpaceX, it's proof that its diversification beyond launch services is generating serious recurring revenue.
